What are the principle beliefs? Is it connected to any other religions? What and why?
It is an Abrahamic religion that came as a revelation through the angel Gabriel. Division broke out between even muslims due to political and religious leadership. Muslims must believe in God, his revelations, his angels, and the day of judgement.

Is there a Holy Book of some kind?
Qur'an, came out of the same divinity as Bible, and Torah.

Where do members worship?
They were expected to worship everywhere, but have mosques and temples for worship.

Is there a difference in lifestyle between its members and other people from the same location?
Sunnis believe in divine decree, predestined life. Shi'a believe in divine justice, where nothing is certain.

What are the beliefs about life / death / afterlife?
Believe in day of bodily resurrection, then experience paradise

The religion of Islam comes out of the same divinity and time period as christianity and judaism. The Islamic belief differs in believing that Jesus was the son of God, and that Jesus foretold that the true prophet was coming. five centaries later came Mohammed.
